Industries

The Alby site is home to several industries collaborating within a circular ecosystem. At the heart of this symbiosis is RES (UK), the world’s largest renewable energy company, planning to build a 500 MW hydrogen plant by 2028-2030. Big Akwa will utilize waste heat and oxygen from RES to enhance its operations. Additional synergies may come from the nearby Nouryon chemical factory, located just a few hundred meters away, providing further waste heat. There’s also a vision to bring greenhouse growers to the site, where Big Akwa plans to sell phosphorus and nitrogen extracted from fish sludge, contributing to resource efficiency and sustainable growth
